![]() I am grateful to medicines, especially PPI, so there is no hating coming from me, however, I do beleive the body can and will remember it's orginial function if given the right directions.Īntibioctics, I have taken so many over my life time which is partly what has me in this situation, not to mention, I have been coughing off and on chroincally for the past 18 years, but not as much now. Thus, that why PPI are among the top sellng prescription. I don't, we don't like discomfort and will do Anything to get relief. Maybe the cause can be eliminated? What you think? Does that mean will always be open and can't be healed? Something triggered it to be open. Maybe I do have a valve that opens, or did open at one time. There has to be a way out and a healthy way of treating heartburn which has been renamed acid reflux and given the disease status. So we had a few bouts of heartburn that we did not know how to treat in a healthy manner that got us, me, here in the situation of PPI, right? How does one fool the body to product it's orginal amount of HCL before Omeprazole? Is the question. 70 something %, not sure of the exact number, were cured. It was sited that to get the acid relux under controll took large does for some. ![]() The researchers started giving them a small dosage and worked upward. I did read a study where giving patients HCL cured the acid reflux. I am wondering if when stopping Omeprazole, which I will attempt next week, if replacing the HCL with meals counter act how much HCL the body produces on it on? It was when my mother was about 45 she began having this what she called gas. ![]() What I have read is that low HCL is what caused the reflux in the beginning. Wished I had never ever started this cylce of PPI, but I cant live life backward. She knew when to take tums to keep it under control. She never complained of heartburn or showed ant signs. When she died tums where under her walker. As she got older the heartburn was better. I am thinking back at my mother who always had heartburn, lived to be 79 years old treating her heartburn with tum. As it stands now, 6 hours since my last omeprazole will be at 9am, so that puts me on a 9am and 9pm schedule for my Guess it will behoove me to try to ween off of omeprazole after antibiotic treatment ends on Sunday. I am alive and can live at my current capacity of lung involvement and be happy, so that's not an issue, even though I am somewhat compremised, I also know how important the HCL for the nutrients to be absorbed. I also have lung invlovement probably secondary from this prolonged acid exposure. When the acid gets begins to come up I can tell before I cough and bring up phelgm due to the promixisty of the organs. It helped a little around 1030pm, but at 3am when it woke me up, I grabbed the Omeprazole 20mg and took one.I truly desire to breath easliy and the acid does accumulate in my chest oppose to the throat like most of you describe, however I can see looking at myself where my throat on the right side is sunken in probably from having reflux for 20 years, coughing, and didn't know it. So as I am sleeping tonight I feel the acid coming up my throat. Givine thanks 2 days are done and only 3 to go. I tell you, what a mess right now and until Saturday evenin when this ends. I attempted to take Rantidine 150mg once a day since stopping Omeprazole, but when? I am having to write down when to eat, take Cipro and all my healthly stuff to do. Cipro gives directions to take antacids 6 hours before or 2 hours after taking it. I was placed on Cipro 250mg twice a day for 5 days which will end on Saturday evening. I took my last 20mg of omeprazole on Saturday morning and today Wednesday my symptoms returned.Ĭoming off may have worked, however, I went to the doctor on Monday for urinary incontinience and was diagnosis with a urinary tract infection then placed on 5 days of antibiotics. After 11 days my symptoms were improved so I thought I could come off of them and do healthy suggestions for healing my reflux which I didn't do before. I took PPI ( omeprazole ) again, this time, for 11 days after being off for a few months. It seems when the body begins producing acid after stopping them it over shoots. I have been off and on PPI for 2 years never realizing they had a rebound effect. Signed frank ocean vinyl2/18/2024 ![]() This output is meager for an artist of Ocean’s stature, one whose every release is a cultural moment. Since channel ORANGEreleased in 2012, Ocean has released two full-length projects, dropped just enough singles to count on two hands, given us several feature verses, played one headlining tour and performed at a handful of music festivals. He seems to have become more sporadic with his releases and performances as his profile and popularity grows, which, in a strange inverse, might make him even more reclusive. Ocean is an inconsistent and largely incomparable artist, and the most difficult part to cope with is that he simply won’t meet you halfway. There’s even a podcast, Dissect, devoted to examining the motifs from his tunes like the heartbreak that he references on “Ivy” and being open about his sexuality on “Thinkin Bout You.” Ocean also makes music that lends itself to rabid fan conspiracies - a quality that few artists possess. He’s painfully honest, which leaves room for his intimate topics to resonate with listeners. ![]() He bobs and weaves through chords with catchy melodies, brings experimental sounds to the fore and croons about heavy themes such as self-love and self-hate, failed relationships, depression and drugs. He displays an unprecedented ability to amalgamate elements of trap, neo-soul, R&B and psychedelic pop to create sonic masterpieces. In the same fashion that a television show or a movie can make you feel connected to its characters or move you to tears, Ocean creates art that makes you feel seen. These snapshots and fleeting moments are why we pay such close attention to his every move and clutch onto his every word. Through his lyrics, we’re able to capture anecdotes about his personal life - but it still feels like we’re only scratching the surface of fully understanding who he is. There’s no artist who toes the line between being deeply relatable and completely mysterious quite like Ocean. Ocean’s following has been forced to grapple with his elusive personality, and as a result, the dynamic between him and his fans continues to fluctuate. However, his reclusive behavior and the unorthodox methods in which he distributes his creative offerings have sent his cult followers on a, well, endless emotional roller coaster ride. ![]() Since Tumblr’s heyday, Ocean has been steadily expanding his musical repertoire and treating our cochleas with the cathartic vocals, inimitable lyricism, and genre-bending production that have made him one of the most influential artists in modern music. Being a Frank Ocean enthusiast can be summed up in two words: unrequited love. Linzer torte cookie2/18/2024 ![]() More Cookies: There are over 85 cookie recipes in the archives. Monday, we talked about Cigarettes Russes (Piroulines), Tuesday, Sugared Pretzel Cookies (made, in part, with rye flour), Wednesday, Eggnog Florentines and then Thursday, I completely abandoned you to go do some holiday-ing with my mom, rather rude, I know, but I think this Linzer is worth the wait and hope it becomes a regular December favorite. And serving them, and eating them, talking about them, reading and writing about them, thinking about them, and sharing them with you,” - Maida Heatter’s Book of Great Cookies.Ĭookie Week! This week is all about the cookies. Consider this a warning: I don’t think anyone only makes these once. It was strange and cozy to have it in my own home instead of someone else’s and the resulting tortes were everything I remember about them - delicate and spiced, firm but fragile, not overly sweet and absolutely stunning. And for me, a third thing, which was that I was terrified that whole time I finally baked it at home this week, worried that I would not do a favorite recipe from one of my favorite cooks justice.īut what I hadn’t considered is that about halfway through the baking time, my apartment became filled with the aromatic blend of walnuts, cinnamon, cloves and lemon zest that is distinctly, wonderfully December to me. My friend’s mom’s linzer torte is indeed Heatter’s linzer torte, which automatically means two things: It won’t be terribly hard to make because the directions will tell you everything you need to know and it will be the best linzer torte you’ve ever made. Imagine what she could do with a black truffle explosion! I mean, remember when she showed us how easy Dobos Torte could be to make? Dobos Torte. Her mother is an excellent cook and baker, and the one that introduced me to Maida Heatter, from whom you should buy every book, immediately, without questioning me because her recipes are detailed without being irritatingly so, charmingly written*, and will never lead you astray. I am lucky enough to join a high school friend for Christmas Eve dinner every year, and her mom always includes squares of incredible linzer torte in her array of Holiday Baking Wonders. I mean, sure there’s something else you could contribute to the holiday baking curriculum, maybe one of your favorites instead?Īnd this has been my feeling about linzer torte for all of the years since we first met at this url in 2006. It’s their thing, not yours, thus there’s clearly no way you could do it justice. It feels almost wrong to make someone else’s signature dish, to meddle. ![]() I think if you were to rank foods in order of how intimidating they are to cook, at the bottom of the list would be stuff you throw together any night of the week without a recipe, the top would be basically anything Grant Achatz has ever made and then maybe, just barely a notch below would be a dish that someone you love and respect makes so perfectly that you consider it to be “their” recipe. Prior to cooking the fish, one should take a straight-edged knife and, using only minimal pressure, scrape off the area where the store knife would have cut. ![]() However, if no fish store is available under reliable Rabbinical supervision, then one may buy whole fish or fish steaks from any store, as long as one did not actually see the kosher fish soaking amidst non-kosher fish and some scales are still on the fish. Therefore, residue from the slicing of non-kosher fish may remain on the blade of the knife and subsequently be rubbed onto the cutting site of the kosher fish. The reason for this is because non-kosher stores which sell fish commonly use one knife to cut different species, kosher and non-kosher alike. Whole fish and fish steaks should preferably be purchased from a store which has reliable Rabbinical supervision. The Torah, in Vayikra 1:9, informs us that a kosher fish is one which has both fins and removable scales (point of interest: every fish which has easily removable scales will also have fins). It is also rather simple to determine whether or not a fish is from a kosher species. Fish are some of the most accessible foods for the kosher consumer, since, unlike beef and poultry, they do not require any halachic preparations prior to their processing.
